دانيال رادكليف كَانَ عِنْدَهُ دائماً عاطفة للتمثيل منذ أن كَانَ في الخامسة من عمره . وبالرغم من أن أبويهِ كَانَ عِنْدَهُمْ بَعْض التردد من هذا الموضوع هو كَانَ قادر على إيجاد طريقِه إلى الشاشةِ الكبيرةِ مِنْ أن بَدْء في دور قرد، في مسرحيّة المدرسةِ، في عُمرِ الستّة أعوام.

أنزلَ دانيال دوره الرئيسي الأول كديفيد شاب في إنتاجِ تلفزيون البي بي سي ديفيد كوبورفليد. وعَملَ مَع السّيدةِ ماجي سميث التي كَانتَ عِنْدَها الفرصةُ أيضاً للمُشَارَكَة بالتمثيل في فيلم هاري بوتر. وهناك مشروع فيلم أخر لدانيال فيلم "خيّاط بَنما"، ويَلْعبُ دورمارك بيندل إبن هاري بيندل (جيفري روش). هذا الدورِ أعطاَه الفرصةَ أيضاً للعَمَل بِجانب بيرس بروسنان وجَيمي لي كيرتيس.

عندما اختبر دانيال أولاً لتمثيل دورِ هاري بوتر، دانيال لم يكَنَ عِنْدَهُ أي أملُ في أخذ الدور لكنه قريباً اكتشف بأنّه حَصلَ عليه في الحقيقة. حيث قال "أَبّي جاءَ فيه وأخبرَني أنا عِنْدي جزءُ هاري بوتر. بَكيتُ، أنا كُنْتُ سعيدَ جداً. استيقظت في منتصفِ الليلِ، حوالي الثانية والنِصْفِ وأيقظتُ أَبَّي أيضاً، فقط لاستشارته بأنّه لم يكذب وأن هذا ليس حلما. و بأنّني حقاً كُنْتُ سَأصْبَحُ هاري بوتر."

منذ ذلك الحين، عمل دانيال أربع أفلام لهاري بوتر وإنتهى من تصوير الخامس. دانيال نَضجَ كشخص بقدر ممثل. هاري كذلك يتمتع بلعب كرة القدم.

Congratulations to Dan for winning a Silver 2003 Bravo-Otto Award honored by Germany's Bravo Magazine, the most prestigious teen magazine in Germany.



Daniel's portrayal as Harry with the Basilisk was nominated for an AOL Movie Goer Award in 2003 for the Most Unforgettable Scene in Harry Potter in the Chamber of Secrets. He was also nominated for Best Actor.



Dan was nominated for Best Performance by a Young Actor in the 2003 29th Annual Saturn Awards for his portrayal of Harry Potter in the Chamber of Secrets.



Daniel was put up for consideration to be nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Warner Brothers. The consideration was forwarded to various Award Organizations including the British Academy of Films and TV, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and also the Golden Globe Awards.




Daniel was voted the 2002 Person of the Year by TIME For Kids according to a poll listed on their website. Tuesday, December 24th, 2002


Congratulations to Daniel for being awarded the OTTO fan award given out by Bravo, the most prestigious teen magazine in Germany. Daniel won the 2001 Silver OTTO in the "Best Male Role" category. November 14, 2002.


At a celebrity dinner on Tuesday 12th February, 2001, Daniel Radcliffe won the Variety Club Sir James Carreras Award for Outstanding New Talent award for 2001.
